Welcome to Whitney's World!

A blog from the founder; a place to see a different perspective on food, eating, and other nutrition-related topics I care about.

Thank you for joining me! I'm Whitney Brooks, founder of Full Circle Nutrition. As someone who wears many hats (mom, garden enthusiast, novice home cook, wife, healthcare professional, entrepreneur, and on and on...), you can bet that I have plenty of interests, ideas, and opinions about the topics that touch my life. I LOVE the vast topic of nutrition and how being a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist shapes the subject for me. As much as I was intimidated by writing a blog and 'putting myself out there', I really wanted to create a place to share some thoughts and insights, with the hope that it could be helpful. Sometimes, the topic of nutrition and eating can be confusing, complicated, and possibly a negative-feeling subject that we don't even want to think about. Sometimes, we just want feed our hunger for novelty, connection, and joy. My goal is simply to share thoughts, stories, pictures, experiences, and other things that spark my curiosity. This is a casual look at the multifaceted way that I nourish myself and my life. I'm excited to get started!

A few more things...

As you might be aware, the topic of nutrition is everything from deeply personal, to a global population-sized fact of life and force of nature. It is essential for ALL life on earth. It impacts everyone on many levels of this existence. Although I am a professional who has attained the most respected credentials in the field of nutrition, I do not claim to be an expert who knows absolutely everything about everything. That role is often claimed by someone who is desperate to sell you something. That's another topic for another post. I prefer to take a more open-minded approach with a touch of humility, a splash of understanding that I don't know everything, and a big box of curiosity and desire to know more. There are certainly things that I feel like I know a lot about and I'll express my confidence about my opinion. There are also things that I feel are beyond my scope of understanding, and I have no issue with stating that. I really hope to come across as someone relatable and very human (shoutout to all my type-B dietitians who aren't obsessed with trying to look perfect! You are my people!) As a human leaning more and more into loving acceptance of my own self, I am here to peel back the shame and misunderstandings I've picked up along my own path in regards to how I nourish myself. If my sharing encourages anyone else to do the same, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

In closing

Once again, thank you for checking out my blog. I hope this is a fun start to an adventurous blogging journey. I look forward to writing more inspired posts and spreading my love of nourishment in a positive way. Stay tuned!

With maximum love of food and eating,

Whitney
